When evaluating the health of an individual, it is easy to check boxes on the physical aspects of health. Blood pressure… cholesterol… weight… these are all standard checkups, but what about the mental aspects? Mental wellbeing plays a major role in an individual’s ability to manage the emotions and stress that can fuel unhealthy eating habits and a sedentary, inactive lifestyle.

This discussion on mental wellbeing is timely. September 9-15 marks National Suicide Prevention Week. It is imperative to support programs that address both the mental and physical aspects of wellness to truly improve the whole health of a person.
